Billing Analyst

Position Purpose and Summary
Analyst will ensure timely payment and adjudication of all claims for their assigned payer.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification: N/A
Experience: understanding and experience with Business Math; Excellent Customer Service skills; basic keyboard and computer skills; accurate data entry.
General Areas of Responsibility
Evaluate outstanding claims and determine cause of no response or payment. Identify trends and common problems and implement long-term solutions
Process manual and electronic remittances from payers.
Develop key contacts with payers and troubleshoot claim issues.
Understand billing processes and expected reimbursement rates from insurance companies.
Understand government billing and payment regulations.
Understand other department processes and how they impact accounts receivable.
Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations.
Participate in billing analyst meetings and present findings to the group.
Lead small teams in addressing accounts receivable issues. Provide feedback to co-workers when errors are identified.
Support and develop procedures as needed and provide training.
Follow all established I.Q. protocols.
General Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs.
Typically sits for extended period of times.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
