POSITION INFORMATION: Provides primary care to mental/behavioral health patients under the supervision of a Physician.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Assists physician during the examination as needed. Ensures that all information is available to the physician. Accompanies physician on rounds and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.
Collects samples from patients including blood, urine, etc. Prepares samples for analysis or shipment.
Takes and records various readings such as heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, body temperature, etc.
Makes follow up patient appointments, or follows up on patient appointments. Answers routine questions from patients, family, etc.
Collects all laboratory reports, data, and records.
Under direction of physician, administers medication to patients.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide efficient quality patient care. Evaluates and improves teaching and healthcare practices and recommends modifications.
Provides educational information to patients, family, etc.
Responds to and intervenes in emergency situations
Assumes lead role to ensure policies, procedures, and physician's orders are followed. Directs and evaluates the work of some personnel that may include Clinic Clerks, Medical Assistants, Nurses, and other Physician Assistants. Trains and schedules workloads of employees.
Assesses and monitors patient response to procedures and treatments. Reports patient condition and reaction to tests, drugs, treatments, and any significant incidents to the physician.
Performs specialized testing using physician-guided protocols
Counsels patients and family about death, side effects of medication, therapy, etc.
Participates in and contributes to research activities that are related to the area of specialization in which they are involved. Participates in conferences pertaining to the research area.
Establishes diagnoses. Evaluates collected patient data and collaborates with the attending physician, consulting services, and extended healthcare team to form a diagnosis.
Establishes the plan of care for patients by evaluating all pertinent information and collaborating with healthcare team.
Implements the plan of care by writing patient care orders when within the scope of the practice or by verbal order from the physician. Orders diagnostic tests and procedures, medication, consultations, work-ups, etc.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Experience: 36 months experience as a Physician Assistant
Certifications/ Licenses: Physician's Assistant certification and Oregon State Board of Medical Licensure as physician assistant or ability to obtain temporary authorization to practice within 60-days.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
