50 per hour)Performs responsible and varied para-professional library duties and clerical-administrative work; assists patrons in using library services and facilities.
General Dutieso Receives oral or written instructions from the Library Director or Library Assistants.
o Plans work according to established procedures.
o Checks out and receives materials at circulation desk, maintaining processing related records and statistics.
May handle confidential information.
o Collects fines using an automated circulation systemo Maintains order in book stacks and assists in resolution of problems resulting from misshelved/misfiled materials.
o Opens, sorts and routes incoming materials.
o Prioritizes tasks within work assignment.
o Involves parents, teachers and adult volunteers in programs.
o Provides individual instruction in the use of library services and facilities, including search of catalog files, use of reference sources, and related information.
o Assists patrons in use of library equipment and materials.
o Operates equipment as needed.
o Prepares exhibits of books, materials and audio-visual equipment.
o Prepares posters, bulletins, and newsletters to promote use of library and facilities.
o Uses computer terminal in entering and retrieving information in library database and automated accounting systems.
o Answers telephones and provide routine information.
o Participates in inventory of books and materials.
o Reports work accomplished to supervisor.
Additional Dutieso Performs routine library services.
o Assumes responsibility for unit or program in temporary absence of a librarian.
o Responds to inquiries from patrons, vendors, and others.
o Types routine correspondence.
o Performs related tasks as assigned.
Supervised ByReceives general supervision from the Library Director and task direction from a Library Assistant.
Qualifications Profileo The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a High School equivalent.
o Ability to acquire a working knowledge of regulations and procedures pertaining to library responsibilities.
o Ability to relate in a friendly and open manner with patrons of all ages.
o Ability to type accurately.
o Ability to maintain accurate files and records.
o Ability to perform accurate mathematical computations.
o Ability to deal cooperatively with others.
o Ability to acquire skill to operate word and data processing equipment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
